About Paula Gardner

Clients comment on my warm and straight-forward manner, but I am also very practical. Our work will be grounded in what is going to make a difference to your relationship, right now.

We also may look at issues from the past, including trauma, if these are impacting you today. If so, I use a gentle and effective technique called Rewind. This reduces the intensity of emotion around any upsetting memories.

My past life

Before becoming a therapist, I ran a PR and marketing company, and I’m also a business psychologist. As a result, I’m solution focused. This suits people who don’t want to be in therapy for months or even years.

Our work together may include learning tools, enjoying guided visualisation, exploring patterns and stories you might be holding onto, as well as talking.

I see clients online, and in person in Folkestone, Kent. I also offer walk and talk as many clients love the opportunity to combine some fresh air and exercise with their therapy. Plus the bilateral stimulation your brain receives while walking is great for processing.

Book a chat with me to see if we are a good fit to work together.

The Human Givens

The Human Givens has received very positive feedback from a study working within the NHS, and has also been adopted by Suffolk Mind.

It is the only type of therapy used by PTSD Resolution which helps veterans, often with severe cases of PTSD.

It is accredited by the PSA, the same body that governs the UKCP and BACP.

I am also a coach and business psychologist. I have an enhanced DBS, work with my own supervisor and complete regular CPD.
